Based on Life Events

Another way to qualify for pro bono financial planning assistance is by considering your current financial situation. If you are the victim of a disaster, have recently experienced the loss of a loved one, lost your job, experienced serious illness, or are deeply in debt (or considering or recovering from bankruptcy), you may be eligible for pro bono assistance.

As a Referral from a Charitable Organization

A third way to qualify for pro bono financial planning assistance is by being referred through a charitable organization. These organizations are typically nonprofit and have a primary goal of serving low-income individuals or people facing a temporary financial crisis. Some sample organizations include:

  • Homeless shelters
  • Crisis pregnancy centers
  • Emergency shelter organizations
  • Emergency medical organizations
