INFORMATION ABOUT THE PARTICIPATING ORGANIZATIONS
The Project for Financial Independence is a collaborative project of five independent organizations, all of whom share the goal of encouraging and facilitating the provision of pro bono financial advisory services by financial planning professionals. The five participating organizations are:
Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards
Financial Planning Association
National Association of Personal Financial Advisors
National Endowment for Financial Education
Society of Financial Service Professionals
In addition to promoting pro bono service as a professional responsibility, those participating organizations that are membership-based are actively engaged in facilitating the involvement of their respective members in pro bono activities, including both financial planning advice to qualified pro bono clients and other pro bono services in the community.
Each participating organization engages in its own programs and activities and acts independently of the other participating organizations in furtherance of the goals of the Project for Financial Independence. The participating organizations are not partners, associates or agents of one another, and do not have authority to represent, commit or speak for each other.
All personal financial advice and assistance provided through the auspices of the Project for Financial Independence is provided solely by an individual professional financial advisor and not by or on behalf of any of the participating organizations named above. Individual advisors are solely responsible for their professional advice and services. None of the organizations named above, nor any of their directors, officers, employees, agents or members, has or assumes any responsibility or liability for the accuracy or appropriateness of any advice or assistance provided by any individual advisor. Each pro bono client must make an independent judgment regarding a particular advisor's qualifications and suitability for that client's needs and circumstances.
